MOVING FORWARD – ANOTHER STEP AT THE END OF LIFE

Stairway To...

I respect that each individual has their own beliefs as to what happens to us when our bodies no longer live. I can only speculate what happens after our bodies die, but isn’t that part of the intrigue? This unknown is also partially to blame for the fear of death.

There are many descriptive words that defines death. Most of them include the definition of “cease living”. Which, in this reality, I guess is accurate. However it is my feeling that, although the physical body is no longer living, the spirit continues to live whether through loved one’s left behind or elsewhere. I really don’t know.

On many occasions we are told things like; “he/she has moved on to a better place”, or “one day you’ll move-on” or “you need to move on”. The phrase “move on” indicates one abandoning something or forgetting about something, neither of which I feel is suitable.

When someone’s body ceases to live, it is my thought that their spirit has progressed, advanced. The spirit has completed it’s duties here on earth and has now graduated to a higher realm. What that realm is a personal choice of each individual. The spirit lives on and, hopefully, our spirit will once again meet up with them. Our spirits “move forward”. They do not abandon us nor do we forget them. This also applies to loved ones still present. They do not abandon nor forget the loved one who is no longer with us. The too move forward. They take steps in a forward motion to navigate through this territory of grief.

We all move forward; apart for now but with hope that we will meet again. Watch the following Tedtalk for additional inspiration. We don’t “move on” from grief. We move forward with it | Nora McInerny

Best Wishes
